Enfield Resident Charged With Possessing Child Pornography

He is accused of possessing more than 200 images suspected of being child pornography.

ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield resident was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with possession of child pornography.

Patrick Dineen, 52, was charged following a lengthy investigation by the Western District Major Crime Squad out of Connecticut State Police - Troop B.

During the course of the investigation, in early January 2016, a total of 206 images suspected of being child pornography were found uploaded into a Dropbox account associated with Dineen's email address. Of those, 161 photos and 11 videos were confirmed to be of child pornography; the remaining images were determined to be child erotica, according to an affidavit supporting Dineen's arrest.

The images and videos of suspected child pornography depicted males and females, with ages ranging from approximately 2 to 14, engaged in prohibited sexual activity.

Detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant from a Litchfield Superior Court judge for the Dropbox account, and later for Dineen's residence at the time in Thomaston. Images were found on various devices, including a laptop, Android cell phone and a thumb drive.

Dineen was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, and was held on $25,000 bond.
