Enfield Resident's Lotto Win Helps Mitigate High Grocery Costs

The CT lottery game player won a large sum of cash with a ticket purchased at a local food market this week.

ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield resident's trip to a local food store this week resulted in a decent payout that should, temporarily at least, help mitigate the high cost of groceries.

According to the Connecticut Lottery Corp., the resident won $25,000 on Tuesday, May 12, playing KENO with a ticket purchased at the Enfield Food Mart, located at 935 Enfield St.

KENO is a numbers lottery game in which numbers are chosen and wagered, with players able to put down $1 to $5; $10; or $20.

The more invested, the bigger the prize, with the maximum prize being $1 million.

While this win fell far short of that, the $25,000 take still likely left a smile on the player's face.
