AARP Tax Aide Update for 2021:
We have had may inquiries asking when the AARP tax program will be resuming at the Enfield Senior Center for 2021. AARP is trying to find ways to be able to do taxes safely. IF they can provide the service this year it will be low-contact or virtual and will be EXTREMELY limited. It is highly recommended you seek an alternative for your tax preparation now.
Below is the latest update form AARP:
“This tax season we have multiple additional hurdles to jump to prepare taxes for our clients. The COVID-19 pandemic is hitting CT hard, and may further worsen before it improves, and many of our usual sites are unsure whether they will be available for our use. We are also facing delays in the availability of some of the “how to” guidance from Tax-Aide on specific aspects of the new models (available end of Dec./early Jan.). In addition, the AARP Opening Committee will not be operational until mid. to late January. It is possible that this committee will not permit some sites to open.”

We will be keeping everyone updated by our weekly e-mails, our monthly digital newsletter, on our website, and in The Senior Center’s weekly column in the Journal Inquirer. We will also be posting information to our Facebook page. We understand that this is a vital program that several individuals utilized and are eager to have this service resume. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we continue to gather information as to the outcome of this program for the 2021 tax season.
