The town will collect up to two brown yard waste barrels per household each week at no cost from May 1 through Oct. 9.

Residents who wish to set out a third or fourth barrel during that period must purchase annual tags for $45. However, from April 10 through April 24, and again from Oct. 16 through the end of leaf season, additional barrels may be set out without tags beyond the two free barrels.

Brown yard waste tipper barrels cost $85, and barrel tags cost $45. Both are available for purchase at the Department of Public Works, located at 40 Moody Road, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Street Sweeping Starts March 30

Enfield’s annual street sweeping program will begin Monday, March 30, and continue through Friday, June 12.

Public works officials said sweeping will start on the north side of town, beginning in the lake areas.

In the downtown section, the area from Sanford to North Main is scheduled for sweeping from April 20 through April 24. The area from North Main to Franklin is scheduled to be swept from April 27 through May 1.

Residents are asked to avoid parking on streets from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on days when sweepers are working in their neighborhoods so crews can complete the work efficiently.

Officials noted the schedule may change depending on weather and conditions. Updates are expected to be posted through the town website and the Enfield DPW’s social media pages.
