ENFIELD, CT — It may not be anywhere close to March 17 yet, but lottery players seeking to bolster their chances of winning may want to grab some luck of the Irish at a longtime convenience store near Shaker Pines Lake, where two CT Lottery scratch tickets paid out the top prizes for their games in the past three days.

Lil' Buddy's Mini Mart, owned by Fran Duggan for 31 years in the Shaker Pines Plaza and famous for its delectable grinders, sold a $2 Electric 8s scratch ticket to Enfield resident Andrea Gagnon on Monday which turned out to be worth $20,000. Two days later, Theresa Ekstrom of Enfield converted a $10 investment in a 10X Cash 14th Edition ticket into a $10,000 bonanza.

Duggan said he could not recall two big payouts in such a short period of time in his three decades at the store. However, he recalled some memorable winners in years past.

"About a dozen years ago, we sold a winning Lotto ticket worth about $8 million," he said. "That same year, we had three other winners of $100,000 or more."

The CT Lottery posts winners of $10,000 or more as public record.
