Enfield Team Wins Gold Medal At Nutmeg State Games
A field hockey tournament which was postponed twice wound up with a team representing Enfield winning the championship in undefeated style.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — A wild and woolly field hockey tournament at the 31st ShopRite Nutmeg State Games turned out to be highly successful for a team representing Enfield High School.
The Eagles posted a pair of shutout victories Saturday at Veterans Stadium in Willow Brook Park, then came back after several days of weather postponements to win five more contests Tuesday, including a 4-0 win over Simsbury in the finals to capture the 18 and under high school gold medal.
Jayonna Montigny and Kara Edwards led the scoring brigade with 13 and six goals, respectively, while Reilly Reim banged home three goals in one game. Rachael Tweedlie and Meredith Higgins also scored Tuesday.
