Enfield Top Business Nominee: Smoothville Smoothies
Patch asked readers to nominate their favorite spots as Enfield Business of the Year, and dozens raved about the offerings at Smoothville.

ENFIELD, CT — Earlier this week, Enfield Patch asked readers to nominate their favorite local business for Business of the Year. Many Enfield businesses have managed to navigate the turbulence of 2020 with steadfast determination and an unwavering commitment to the clients they serve.
Things got off to a rough start for Smoothville Smoothies, which opened less than a week prior to the massive March shutdown brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Owners Stacy Simons and Chris Magnuson have persevered, however, adapting their new shop to the strict regulations implemented by the government.
The menu at Smoothville contains about 40 varieties of smoothies, plus Acai Bowls and Yonana Bowls. The small shop is designed as a "quick-serve take-and-go," as opposed to a dine-in facility. There are three tables inside for customers, plus a 60-game electronic table featuring retro favorites like Ms. Pac Man and Galaga.

People responding to Patch's inquiry were gaga over the shop, as more than 40 submissions were received. Here are excerpts from some of the nominations received in favor of Smoothville.
- "Smoothville is exactly what Enfield needed. They are a healthy and tasty alternative. They use great high quality ingredients with many options to choose from. Stacy and Chris have created a loving and warm culture there and it shines through every visit. Growing up in Enfield, this is the kind of place I've been dying to see come to town. A breath of fresh air from all the fast food chains. They have the best acai bowls I've had in or out of this state. A must have that I've hooked my family on." - Mike Boucher
- "Customer service is always the best. They were a brand new business in the beginning of COVID-19, and managed to pivot and become one of the best places in town for contact-less delivery. Their smoothies are so fresh, and they only use the highest quality ingredients. Couldn't say enough about their customer service, quality of food, safety during COVID-19, and friendly environment." - Janina Kruzel
- "Besides having a great product that is both fresh and health conscious, they also have super friendly staff and prompt service. They opened during a pandemic ... That's got to say something for how solid they really are!" - Jennifer DiFranco
- "They use clean and natural ingredients that support any lifestyle and they’re super friendly. The smoothies are delish!" - Nicole Gemme
- "They opened right when COVID-19 sent everything in a tailspin. They adapted with curbside pickup and online ordering. They got me through my working at home days with contactless delivery of awesome smoothies right to my car. They have awesome ingredients too. And the owners are super nice!" - Kristin Foy
Magnuson told Patch, "We would like to thank all of you who nominated Smoothville for Business of the Year. Your ongoing support, positive comments and your happiness that we are here in Hazardville has meant the world to us, and we are so very appreciative of each and every one of you. We ask that in this difficult time that you continue to support our small local business as well as others. Wishing everyone good health and stay safe."
