The Enfield Police Department and Enfield Square (www.shopenfieldmall.com) have teamed up again to support Special Olympics Connecticut’s Cop-on-Top fundraiser. Don’t miss out on this special event! Officer George Marusak and Sergeant Mark Squires of Enfield Police will climb on top of Enfield Square where they will remain until their fundraising goal of $5,000 has been met – that means spending the night if they have to! They need your help to get off the roof. Visit them on Saturday June 25th and Sunday June 26th and make a donation to Special Olympics Connecticut and help them on their way to raising $5,000. Enfield Police Explorers, Enfield Police Auxiliary, Enfield Police K-9 officer and his partner “Promise” will be on hand to meet and greet the public as well Enfield Police vehicles and other officers. .
All the money raised will go support over 12,000 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Connecticut programming.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) for Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT) is the movement's second largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. At its most basic level, the Torch Run is an actual running event (June 9-11) where over 1,500 officers and athletes carry the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope" through hundreds of cities and towns across the state, covering over 530 miles before running into the Opening Ceremonies at Summer Games (June 11-13). At its more extensive level, the Torch Run program encompasses a variety of fundraising vehicles, such as T-shirt or merchandise sales, Penguin Plunges, Golf Tournaments, Tip-a-Cops, Cop-on-Top, Jail n’ Bails and many other events that have local appeal.
