Fermi Clinches Tournament Berth With 13-6 Win

The Falcons improved to 8-4 by defeating E.O. Smith in a CCC North baseball matchup Tuesday in Enfield.

ENFIELD, CT - The bats were working for the Fermi High School baseball team Tuesday, as the Falcons cranked out 18 hits en route to a 13-6 victory over E.O. Smith in CCC North action in Enfield.

Brian Cunningham overcame a shaky start to earn the win on the mound for the Falcons, pitching a complete game and striking out six. He helped himself at the plate, banging out three hits and knocking in a run.

E.O. Smith scored three runs in the first inning, but Fermi tallied two each in the first and third, then exploded for four runs in the fifth to assume an 8-4 lead. The Falcons added five more in the sixth against a pair of Panther relief pitchers to ice the victory.
