Fire At Enfield Fitness Center

A fire alarm and follow-up call brought all five Enfield fire departments to Healthtrax Tuesday evening, officials said.

ENFIELD, CT — A fire at Healthtrax Fitness and Wellness in Enfield was quickly controlled Tuesday evening, and no injuries were reported, according to Enfield Fire District No. 1 Chief Ed Richards.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the building, located at 3 Weymouth Road, at about 5:30 p.m., Richards said via email. A follow-up phone call reported a fire inside the building, prompting an additional automatic mutual aid response from the other four Enfield fire departments: Thompsonville, Hazardville, North Thompsonville and Shaker Pines.

The fire was quickly controlled by firefighters and the building’s sprinkler system, Richards said.
