Firefighters Battling Blaze In Historic Enfield Building
The early-morning fire Saturday is at the home of the Thompsonville Greys Club at 78 Main Street.
ENFIELD, CT — Firefighters are battling a blaze in a historic building in the Thompsonville section of town.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. at 78 Main Street, home of the Thompsonville Greys Club. No further information was immediately available.
The 3-story narrow brick building, constructed in 1900, contains the social club, known formally as the Greys Athletic Association. It was founded in 1924, and in the past has sponsored successful teams in football, basketball, softball, billiards and duckpin bowling.
