Firefighters Quickly Contain Garage Blaze In Enfield
The fire was knocked down quickly enough to prevent flames from spreading to the main part of the house, a fire official said.

ENFIELD, CT — Heavy fire in an attached garage of a Somers Road home Thursday night was quickly knocked down by firefighters, preventing the flames from reaching the main portion of the house.
The fire at 6 Somers Rd. was reported at 7:28 p.m., with the Shaker Pines Fire Department taking command. Mutual aid from all Enfield fire departments responded to the call, Capt. Ed Prajzner said.
The main body of the fire was knocked down within 15 minutes, salvaging the main portion of the structure. The scene was fully cleared by 11:30 p.m., Prajzner said.

One person inside the house was able to escape on his own. No injuries were reported, according to Prajzner.
The home is uninhabitable at this time, and the fire marshal's office is working to determine the cause of the blaze, Prajzner said.
