Fitness Center In Enfield Closing Scitico Location
An announcement earlier this week indicated the club would be closing its doors Friday night.

ENFIELD, CT — A fitness center in the Scitico Plaza on Route 190 is abruptly closing its doors effective at 9 p.m. Friday, and a number of members have taken to social media to express their disappointment and even indignation at the sudden turn of events.
Club Fitness, which has done business at the far eastern edge of the plaza since the 2010s, announced on its Facebook page earlier this week it would close Friday night due to "a very sudden situation that is out of our control."
When pressed by several members about the reason for the closing, the club's Facebook administrator wrote, "It was out of our control and that is all we are allowed to say."

The club announced it would transfer all memberships to a Club Fitness location in the Enfield Plaza at 640 Enfield Street.
"We cherish all of our members dearly," the administrator wrote. "You all are like family, you have no idea how much we appreciate you."

The distance of nearly six miles to the Enfield Street location poses concern for many members, as an abundance of traffic lights makes the trip about 15 minutes longer.
"You guys are literally around the corner from my house - I’ll likely never go to the Route 5 location because it’s not nearly as convenient," one member wrote. Another added, "Very upset, the other location doesn’t work for me."
