Flashback Friday: Do You Remember...?

An old advertisement and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch remembers a business or landmark in town that is no longer in existence through publication of old advertisements from some 1960s-1980s Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and early-1960s to mid-1980s telephone directories and newspapers.

Today we go back three decades to the 1987 Fermi High School yearbook, and an ad from one of Enfield's most beloved longtime businesses: Button Greenhouse.

Located at 149 Elm Street directly across from Palomba Drive, the business was founded by Edward Button as Button Flower Farm. For many years, Edward Button's daughter, Ellie Bissonnette, operated the business, including expansion by opening the Enfield Mall Flower Shop and Julie-Lynn Flowers.
