Flashback Friday: Do You Remember...?
An old advertisement and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch remembers a business or landmark that is no longer in town through publication of old advertisements from some 1960s-1990s Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and early-1960s to mid-1980s telephone directories and newspapers.
In a definite throwback to a bygone era, today we feature an ad from the 1985 Fermi yearbook for Video Way, located at 348 Hazard Avenue.
Home video was still fairly new at that time, with consumers rushing out to rent their favorite movies on JVC VHS or Sony Betamax. VCRs at that time cost between $1,000 and $1,400.

Since the closure of Video Way, several businesses have occupied the building, most notably David Potter's Dance Studio and the Smoke 'n Leather head shop.
Enfield Patch invites readers to share their memories in the comments section below.
