Florence Markowski Lefrancois, 88; Lifelong Enfield Resident Who Dedicated Her Life To Family and Church
Calling hours will be held Friday, Feb. 27 with the funeral scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28.

Florence (Hargraves) Markowski Lefrancois, 88, of Enfield, CT entered into the embracing arms of our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Florence was born April 2, 1926, in the Stateline section of Enfield. She was raised in a happy loving home; she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Hargraves.

Florence was a devotee of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Enfield, CT where she enjoyed her time and conversations with other parishioners. Florence lived a long and satisfying life as a dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Florence was predeceased by two husbands, Henry J. Markowski, Sr. in 1971 and Wilfred J. Lefrancois in 2002. It was with her first husband Henry that Florence established a long lineage of children, grandchildren and great-children, all by whom she is survived. Florence spent the later years of her life with late husband Wilfred LeFrancois in their home on Broad Leaf Lane in Enfield, CT.
During her life, Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was a good Christian woman who dedicated her life to her family and church. She is survived by four children, Ann Leavitt and her husband, James of Middletown, RI, Henry J. Markowski, Jr. and his wife, Charlene of Enfield, CT, Eileen Mattera and her husband, Paul of Enfield, CT and Paul Markowski and his wife, Suzanne of Ellington, CT. Florence is also survived by her grandchildren, Amy Morton and her husband, Gordon of Barrington, RI, Jim Leavitt and his wife, Francesca of New Bedford, MA, Robert Rolocut, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Enfield, CT Randall Rolocut and his wife, Tara of Clarkesville, TN, Richard Rolocut of Enfield, CT, Rosemary Atta and her husband, Bishoy of Hudson, MA, Katherine Rolocut of Asheville, NC, Justin Markowski of Ellington, CT and Danielle Markowski of Ellington, CT. Florence leaves nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Christine Sycz of East Hartford, CT and Irene Hanke of Escondido, CA and many nieces, nephews and close friends especially, Beverly Nuccio of Enfield, CT. Florence was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters.

Along with being a loving matriarch, Florence was a cherished friend. Her warm personality, sense of humor and compassion were treasured by all who knew her. Florence was a good listener and a kind-hearted soul. You could depend upon her and rely upon her for a warm smile, a hug and a cheerful joke. She devoted her life to her relationships, as well as community-oriented organizations. Florence was a proud and enthusiastic member of Enfield Grange #151, where she served in many leadership positions throughout the years.
Florence will always be remembered as a sweet and caring lady who liked to have a good time. When she was around, it was always fun and easy-going. Anyone who knew her can recall her stories and remember her joyful face as she described being proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments or how she would light up every time one of them came to visit her or take her out to a restaurant. She treasured her time with family and friends and made others feel appreciated and loved in return.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, February 27, 2015, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. A funeral procession will gather on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 9 am at the funeral home for a funeral service to be celebrated at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 383 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery.
