Former Enfield High School Hockey Standout Sentenced to Prison

The man was sentenced in a plea deal this week.

SOMERS/STAFFORD, CT — A former Enfield High School hockey star is facing more than six years in prison for his role in an in-home marijuana farm that included operations in Somers and Stafford.

Judicial officials this week outlined sentencing details for 39-year-old Frederick Seagrave. Two others implicated in the case still have active cases, according to court records.

Seagrave was a star for the Raiders in the mid-1990s. He entered a guilty plea on Tuesday,
according to court records.

He was sentenced to:

  • 78 months, special probation for four years for first-degree larceny and the sale of certain illegal drugs
  • 5 years for state income tax fraud

He was arrested after an October 2014 state police raid involving houses in Stafford and Somers during which more than 500 marijuana plants were seized, according to state police records. Raids took place at 72 Gilbert Road in Stafford and 95 Georgewood Road in Somers, according to state police records.

Seagrave and Sarah Craddock, 33, were at the Stafford home during the raid and arrested at the scene, according to state police records.

His father, Robert Seagrave, 57, was arrested at the Somers home where police found 1 ounce of cocaine and 2 pounds of processed marijuana, according to arrest records.

Robert Seagrave is on the trial list and a date for his proceedings to begin is pending, according to judicial system records. He is facing a half-dozen drug-related charges, including operating a factory, court records indicate. The next court date for Craddock is Jan. 27, according to judicial system records.

Her charges include two counts of delivering a false statement, state income tax fraud and first-degree larceny, according to judicial system records.

Police records show that children were allegedly present during the operations and for that she is facing three risk of injury to a child charges, court records indicate.
