ENFIELD, CT — Mary Baskerville, a 1,000 point scorer at Enfield High School who went on to excel at Providence College and Quinnipiac University, will soon be elevating her game to the professional ranks overseas.

The 6-foot-3 forward, who played the 2022-23 season as a graduate student at Quinnipiac and was a unanimous selection as Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Sixth Player of the Year, has signed to play with BC Pharmaserv Marburg in the DBBL first division in Germany. She flew to Frankfurt Tuesday to begin preparing for the 2023-24 season, which starts in October.

"I can't wait to meet all my teammates and coaches and get straight to work," Baskerville said. "I'm also excited to see how this new experience shapes my basketball career. I also look forward to meeting new people and learning about a new culture."

Her new head coach, Patrick Unger, said, "Mary is a very intense player and an inside player who has been missed a bit in Marburg in recent years. She is very athletic and can defend against first through fifth positions. Mary will certainly need a moment to get used to the physique in the Bundesliga, but she knows that. She is a player who enjoys playing for and in a team. I know a few other teams in the league were also on Mary. I am all the more pleased that she has signed with us."

During the 2022-23 campaign, Baskerville averaged 8.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.3 assists per game, coming off the bench in all but three of her 28 appearances for the Bobcats. She lead the MAAC by shooting 71.0 percent from the field, and was third in the conference with 40 blocked shots.

Prior to Quinnipiac, Baskerville, 23, played four years in the Big East Conference at Providence, averaging 10.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 106 appearances. She was the 2019 conference Freshman of the Year and was selected to the All-Big East second team in 2021.

At Enfield High School, the 2018 graduate established an all-time scoring record for either boys' or girls' basketball by netting 1,870 points. She was an All-State player on two occasions and All-Conference four times, averaging 21.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in her senior season.

Enfield compiled an 82-14 record during Baskerville's tenure, reaching the state semifinals all four years - twice in Class M, then twice more in Class LL following the school's merger with Fermi High School.
