Former Ms. CT Senior America Contestant Receives Surprise Visit

Parkway Pavilion Health & Rehabilitation Resident Helen Kessler is Surprised by Ms. CT Senior America Queens

Helen Kessler, a 1989 Ms. CT Senior America Contestant, who now calls Parkway Pavilion Health & Rehabilitation Center home, received a visit from present and former Ms. CT Senior America Queens.

Organized by Joyce Keating of Somers, who was joined by Kyle Ralston of Fairfield, Charlene Armitage of Ashford and the current Ms. CT Senior America, Jane Marie Weston of Coventry the ladies sang and danced as Helen watched through the window.

Helen, who was secretary of Ms. CT Senior America for 29 years, was presented with a State of CT Pin and a Crown Pin deeming her an Honorary Queen. Helen commented, “They are great ladies, I never won in 1989 but they all tell me I’m a winner for being selected as one of four contestants.” The organization’s motto is Mind, Body and Spirit with the main goal to keep seniors active and to entertain at area nursing homes, veterans’ homes and community events.
