Former State Rep Pleads Guilty in DUI Case

He had been accused of operating under the influence in West Hartford in July 2016.

HARTFORD, CT — Former Enfield state representative David Alexander pleaded guilty to charges of operating under the influence Monday in Hartford Superior Court.

Alexander, who represented the 58th District in the Connecticut General Assembly for two terms, was also charged with failure to drive in proper lane and failure to carry registration/insurance card when he was arrested July 16, 2016 in West Hartford.

He had been charged with operating under the influence in Windsor Locks in early 2015, but those charges were dismissed following completion of an alcohol education program.

Charges of third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace are still pending against Alexander, stemming from a Nov. 10 incident in which he is accused of assaulting his father.

He was defeated by Republican challenger Greg Stokes in his bid for a third term in the November election.
