Greater Enfield Kiwanis Opens Its Doors Thursday

ENFIELD, CT — The Kiwanis Club of Greater Enfield is inviting neighbors to stop by Powder Hollow Brewery on Thursday to learn what the club does and how they can get involved.

The free open house runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at 504 Hazard Ave., Unit 8C. Visitors can come and go, meet members and talk about ways to help children in Enfield, Somers, Suffield and East Windsor, according to an invitation sent on the club’s behalf by Sharen Santoski. The time and location are also listed on the club’s website.

The club hopes to meet prospective volunteers, partners and members. Refreshments will be available, and visitors are welcome to share ideas about what children in their communities need, Santoski said.

Its work includes projects addressing food insecurity and youth leadership. In May, the club held a children’s bike safety rodeo in Enfield. Santoski said the club also supports the Enfield Food Shelf, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and End Hunger New England.
