Grocery Near Enfield Border Closes Temporarily Due to Coronavirus
Several employees tested positive for coronavirus, prompting store officials to shut down temporarily for thorough cleaning and quarantine.

LONGMEADOW, MA — A popular grocery store just yards from the Enfield town line will be closed through next Friday out of an abundance of caution following positive coronavirus tests on several employees.
Armata's Market, a locally-owned, independent full-service grocer noted for its custom-cut, high-quality meats for more than 55 years, announced Thursday it would close through Jan. 15 following the discovery of positive tests on "a few of our employees."
The store at 901 Shaker Rd., in a small strip plaza at a busy intersection less than 500 feet from the Enfield line, will be professionally sanitized during its closure, and employees will quarantine per public health guidelines.

A message posted on the doorway Thursday afternoon reads:
To our loyal customers:
The health and safety of our customers and employees are of our utmost concern. As everyone is aware, the number of positive COVID-19 cases is increasing, and unfortunately a few of our employees have tested positive in recent days. In order to protect our employees, customers and community, we have made the difficult decision to close until January 15, 2021. This will allow us the time to have the entire building professionally sanitized, and for our employees to quarantine.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Friday, January 15th and providing our great service, products and prices to our loyal customers. We wish everyone well during this difficult time, and look forward to better days ahead.
Stay well and be safe.
