LETTER: Protect Educators, Women, Students; Support Despard, Mangini

ENFIELD, CT — I am a student, an educator and a son of a single mother. This election could not be more quintessential to the protection and advancement of women’s rights, and fighting back against the regressive attacks on our teachers and students we see happening nationally. This is why I’m supporting Cindy Mangini for State Senator in the 7th and Matt Despard for State Representative in the 59th.
Cindy and Matt are proven fighters here in Enfield. In just a little less than year, Cindy and Matt on the Town Council have advanced LGBTQ awareness and taken strong stances on social justice. They recently advanced a new diversity, equity and inclusion committee. Last June, we had the first ever Pride Month declared in Enfield.
Enfield is making true strides to become an welcoming and social conscious community. Furthermore they’ve fought back against attempts to undermine our schools, and refused to engage in baseless conspiracy theories around our teachers and administrators here in Enfield. Enfield is strongest when we cherish our students, teachers, administrators and staff. Cindy and Matt have been by our school community’s side since day one.

Additionally, in an era where abortion rights have fallen into question, and many have attempted to undermine safe abortion access. It is ever so important we support pro choice candidates. Matt and Cindy are the only pro choice candidates in these races.
Cindy is endorsed by the Democratic Party and Working Families, Matt sports endorsements from the Democratic Party, Working Families and the Independent Party. Both have been committed to bipartisan solutions, while never wavering on protection of our values. Please support them this November.
