Massachusetts Hardware Stores to Combine, Move to Enfield

ENFIELD, CT - A pair of long-operating Massachusetts-based hardware stores are planning to combine operations and move to Enfield this fall, the Journal Inquirer reported.

Brightwood Hardware, based in Longmeadow, and Carr Hardware & Supply Co., out of Pittsfield, are planning to open Carr Hardware at Brightwood Center in a small plaza at 481 Enfield Street.

Both are True Value hardware affiliates.

Plans are for the store to take over the space currently held by WhirlyBall, an entertainment venue which is closing.

A representative of WhirlyBall told Patch the property landlord increased the rent to an amount the owners could no longer afford.
