Military Projectiles Found at Enfield Home

Enfield and state police are working with military experts to determine whether the items are inert.

ENFIELD, CT — Local and state police are conducting an investigation at a Route 5 home where several military surplus projectiles and military grade shells were discovered Monday.

The projectiles found in a ranch-style house at 1692 King Street, near the East Windsor town line, are believed to be inert; however, "out of an abundance of caution, the projectiles are being examined" by the Connecticut State Police bomb squad, with assistance from military experts from Westover Air Force Base, Chief Alaric Fox said.

"If at any point it is determined that there is a danger to the public, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure public safety," police said on the department's Facebook page.
