Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Dump Truck: UPDATED
The collision caused closure of an Enfield roadway for nearly five hours Tuesday.

ENFIELD, CT — A motorcyclist involved in a collision with a dump truck on Depot Hill Road Tuesday afternoon has succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed Wednesday morning.
Frank Caravello, 63, was taken to St. Francis Hospital following the crash with life-threatening injuries. A family member notified Enfield police Wednesday morning that he had passed away due to his injuries, according to police.
A message on Caravello's brother Robert's Facebook page reads, "R.I.P. Brother Frank! Hopefully you are in a better place!"

ENFIELD, CT — A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision with a dump truck on Depot Hill Road Tuesday afternoon.

The motorcycle operator, Frank Caravello, was transported to St. Francis Hospital following the crash, which occurred near Tri-State Diesel at 2:13 p.m., Lt. Mark Squires said.
No information was immediately available about the dump truck operator.
Depot Hill Road was closed from Route 5 to Old Depot Hill Road for nearly five hours, reopening around 7 p.m., Squires said.
Metro Traffic Services is investigating the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Pete Nisyrios at 860-763-8985.
