ENFIELD, CT — For more than 100 years, the Enfield Adult and Continuing Education program has provided north-central Connecticut residents an opportunity to earn their high school diplomas. The most recent crop of 22 graduates celebrated this amazing feat June 8 in the auditorium of the former Enrico Fermi High School.

Credit diploma student Frances G. Sullivan Spring delivered a heartwarming speech to her fellow graduates. She spoke of overcoming many hardships and obstacles to achieve her high school diploma.

Students competed their high school diplomas in one of three programs: Credit Recovery Program, GED, and National External Diploma program. The student is in the program that best fits their previous schooling and their learning style. Credits are obtained from classes and for work or military experience, independent study or online programs through Connecticut Virtual High School.
