ENFIELD, CT — A Route 5 nursing home was fined $10,000 by the state Department of Public Health following multiple violations earlier this year, the CT Health I-Team (C-HIT) reported.

Parkway Pavilion Health and Rehabilitation Center at 1157 Enfield Street received the fine after a March 20 incident in which a resident was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Records indicate CPR was not started until nearly five minutes had elapsed; an LPN who failed to utilize an automated external defibrillator device was later terminated, C-HIT reported.
