Press release from the Enfield Public Library:
Jim Malley will share his presentation People, Places, and Events in Enfield and answer questions about his book Enfield 1950-1980. The collections of photographs were taken by his father Edward J. Malley, Jr., who was an award-winning photographer. He covered major news events in the region for over twenty-five years. Beginning as a photographer for the Daily News in 1955, later Malley became photo editor for three Springfield newspapers. The presentation will show how Enfield was transformed from a small mill and farming community of 15,000 people to a suburban community of 45,000 today.
The event takes place Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. No registration is necessary.
