Teen Killed in Rollover Crash in Enfield Identified: UPDATED

Police said two other people were hospitalized due to the early morning crash.

ENFIELD, CT — A single-car accident on Powder Hill Road early Monday morning has claimed the life of a teenaged girl and sent two other teens to a hospital, police said.

The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. near the bottom of the hill approaching Abbe Road. The vehicle rolled over, Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

A passenger, Lailyn Soja, 19, of Enfield, was killed in the crash, while another passenger, John Neild, 19, of Enfield, was injured. The driver, a juvenile whose name was not released, was also injured, Sferrazza said.

The road was closed until late morning while an accident reconstruction team worked at the scene. Town officials issued a notification of the road closure to residents via the Everbridge notification system.
