Pickup Truck Sought in Fatal Enfield Hit-and-Run

Police believe a Chevy Silverado was the vehicle which struck and killed a skateboarder on Dec. 2.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police are searching for an older model Chevrolet Silverado, which they believe was the vehicle which struck and killed a 20-year-old town resident less than two weeks ago.

"The Enfield Police Traffic Division has reason to believe the suspect vehicle is a 2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck," police said in a written statement. "We believe the vehicle has damage to the front, right side to include damage to the headlamp assembly."

With the statement, police released a photo of a Silverado, circling the area where damage is likely to have occurred.

A northbound vehicle struck and killed Jeremy Mercier, 20, who was riding a skateboard around 1 a.m. on Route 5 near Orbit Drive on Dec. 2.
