Police: A Pound of Pot, Thousands in Cash Seized During Arrest of Drug-Dealer Suspect
An Enfield man is being held on $150,000 bond.

An Enfield man remains in custody following his arrest on drug-related charges when police seized a pound of pot and several thousand dollars in cash.
Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said that the suspect had been under surveillance by narcotics officers and was suspected of selling marijuana behind a laundromat and dry cleaners at 919 Enfield Ave. in the Thompsonville neighborhood of town. Officers found the suspect inside a car with another person about 1:30 p.m. April 1, Sferrazza said.

Sferrazza said the suspect was arrested after the department’s drug dog “circled the car and alerted” there were drugs. “Officer found a pound of marijuana and $5,600 in cash on him and in the car. The money was in small denominations which is consistent with street level dealing,” Sferrazza said.
Michael Osip, 34, of Washington Avenue, Enfield was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school or day care center and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Osip is is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond and is scheduled to return to state Superior Court in Enfield on April 14, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
