Radiology Associates of Hartford Honors Military Members on Veterans Day by Offering Free Lung CT Scans

Veterans can get a free lung CT scan at any Radiology Associates of Hartford clinic on Veteran's Day.

Radiology Associates of Hartford (RAH), is celebrating Veterans Day, by offering free lung screenings on Tuesday, November 11 at all three of its central Connecticut locations to veterans and active duty military members. Anyone with a valid military ID and a written order for the scan from their doctor can get a free lung CT scan at RAH’s Avon, Enfield and Glastonbury locations during regular business hours.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. The American Cancer Society estimates that lung cancer accounts for nearly 30 percent of all cancer deaths in the U.S. each year, killing more people than colon, breast and prostate cancer combined. Early detection with a non-invasive low-dose CT lung scan is the best tool available to catch it in its earliest stages. Lung cancer is often not diagnosed until it’s at an advanced stage since the symptoms of the disease like a worsening cough, shortness of breath, back pain and fatigue can seem related to other health problems.
