Reported Shooting In Enfield A Hoax: Police
A call indicating a person shot their sister was received at police headquarters Saturday afternoon and unsubstantiated.

ENFIELD, CT — A call received Saturday afternoon at the Enfield Police Department reporting a person had just shot their sister and would engage police in a gunfight upon their arrival was quickly deemed a hoax "swatting" call, according to a police supervisor.
The call was received at 4:32 p.m., prompting numerous officers to respond to a home on Elm Street. Officers contacted residents of the house and police determined the call, which came in on the department's main number rather than through the 911 system, was actually a hoax, police Lt. Bryan Nolan said.
Traffic on Elm Street near Asnuntuck Community College was delayed during the investigation. Police cleared the scene around 5 p.m., Nolan said.
