Reports Of Jumper Prompt Search Near Route 190 Bridge: Enfield Police
Enfield police received reports about a bridge jumper late Thursday night.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police and fire crews were searching the Connecticut River Thursday night into Friday after receiving reports about a jumper on the Route 190 bridge.
At 11:37 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a report about a person possibly leaping off Veterans Bridge, according to an incident report.
Police said a witness reported seeing what appeared to be a person climb over the fence on the north end of the bridge and a separate witness reported seeing someone on the walking path preceding a scream and a splash, though the person did not see anyone actually jumping.

Water searches were conducted by Enfield police and the Thompsonville, North Thompsonville and Enfield fire departments. Police said thermal imaging devices were used to search the water and the riverbanks and area cameras were checked for "relevant information," but nothing was found.
No missing person reports have turned up and no abandoned vehicles were located in the area and no suicide notes have been found, police said.
