Source to Sea Cleanup Scheduled for Sept. 26
Volunteers from Enfield will be working to clean up the watershed for the 16th straight year.

The Scantic River Watershed Association, in conjunction with the Enfield Conservation Commission, will be participating in the Connecticut River Watershed Council’s annual Source to Sea Clean Up in Enfield on Saturday Sept. 26.
This will be the 16th year Enfield has participated in this area-wide event; volunteers have hauled more than 110 tons of trash from Enfield’s watershed over the past 15 years.
Volunteers are to meet at the Donald Barnes boat launch on South River Street at 8:30 a.m. for registration for this fun and meaningful Source to Sea Cleanup. Bring gloves and wear sturdy shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.

Pizza and soda will be served to the volunteers at noon.
Additional motor boats are needed to help ferry volunteers and trash up and down the Connecticut River.

Volunteers will be cleaning up along the Connecticut River, Freshwater Brook, Freshwater Pond, and the Scantic River. All are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
The Connecticut River Watershed Council has been a non-profit advocate for the 11,000 square-mile watershed of the Connecticut River since 1952.
