Subway Sandwich Shop Closes Its Doors On Elm Street In Enfield
The franchised location had been a fixture in the Riverview Plaza for more than a decade.

ENFIELD, CT — After more than a decade of serving hungry customers, the Subway sandwich shop in the Riverview Plaza on Elm Street, across from Asnuntuck Community College, has closed its doors.
It is not clear exactly when the closure occurred, but patrons approaching the eatery Thursday afternoon were greeted by this notice posted on the door:
"Sorry, we have CLOSED.
Thank you for all your support over the years.
Due to the tough times in our economy, we are not able to sustain the expenses at this location."
The distinctive yellow and white logo sign over the entrance has already been removed.
