Update: Threat Prompts Police Response at Enfield High School
Police now say there wasn't a lockdown at the school where a student reportedly a threat.

Update: 11:32 a.m.
Enfield school officials initially reported that Enfield High School was locked down Tuesday morning after receiving a threat.
However, now the Enfield Superintendent’s Office and Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza say the school was never put in lock down, according to NBC Connecticut. There are conflicting reports on the nature of the threat.

The situation evolved after a student reportedly heard a peer make a reference about committing a Sandy Hook-type situation at the school Tuesday. That student apparently told another student, who notified school officials. It is not clear when the initial comment was made.
According to WFSB, there were initial reports the school was placed into an “internal lockdown,” on Tuesday morning after a reported threat. But the school superintendent told WFSB that “the school was never, is not and will not be placed into lockdown.”

School officials are trying to verify allegations that a threat was made. The station reports that a threat was made against a student. Police are talking with the student at his home, according to the report which can be found here.

Enfield High School is under lockdown, after authorities said a threat was received Tuesday morning.
According to reports, officials said students and staff are safe and police are on the scene, 1264 Enfield St.
