Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?
A photo and story of a business from Enfield's past.
ENFIELD, CT - In this weekly series, Enfield Patch publishes a photo of a business or landmark in town that is no longer in existence. Today, we're not traveling very far back at all.
In 2003, a somewhat upscale restaurant called the Hazard Grille opened at 39 Hazard Avenue, in a freestanding building in the southeast portion of the Enfield Commons property. The building had previously housed Woody's Brick Oven; prior to that, a Red Lobster had operated at the site.
The menu featured a variety of entrees not found in many other local restaurants, including seafood risotto (shrimp, scallops, mussels and calamari tossed with saffron risotto and tomatoes in a clam broth with a touch of cream) and a 12 oz. pork chop filled with apple, raisin and sausage stuffing served over mustard mashed potatoes and topped with an apple cider glaze and grilled asparagus.

After 10 years in business, the Hazard Grille abruptly closed its doors in late April 2013.
The location is now home to a Plaza Azteca Mexican restaurant.
