Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?

An old advertisement and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch remembers a business or landmark in town that is no longer in existence through publication of old advertisements from some 1960s-1980s Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and early-1960s to mid-1980s telephone directories and newspapers.

Today we go back three decades to the 1987 Fermi High School yearbook, and an ad from a longtime dining favorite: Ann Fields Country Pie Restaurants.

Located in a small plaza at 555 Hazard Avenue in the Scitico section of town, Ann Fields offered a full menu in addition to its famous selection of homemade pies. Other Ann Fields locations included South Windsor, Hadley, Mass. and Springfield, Mass.

Since its Enfield closure, the site has been home to other restaurants, Including Ike's and Angelina's, the current tenant.

Enfield Patch invites readers to share their memories of Ann Fields in the comments section below.
