Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?

An old advertisement and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch remembers a business or landmark that is no longer in town through publication of old advertisements from some 1960s-1980s Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and early-1960s to mid-1980s telephone directories and newspapers.

Today's offering is a bit different, as we visit the 1974 Enfield High School yearbook and show a portion of page 203, where sponsors and patrons were listed.

Nine businesses are shown in this photo, including three in the old Enfield Mall on Hazard Avenue - Orange Julius, Enfield Book & Card Shop and Laurel Photographers - and three in the State Line Plaza on Elm Street - Bonanza Steakhouse, Zayre Department Store and Genovese Drugs. Of the nine shown, one is still thriving today - Caronna's Market on Pearl Street in Thompsonville.
