Throwback Thursday: Do You Remember...?
An old advertisement and story of a business from Enfield's past.

ENFIELD, CT — In this weekly series, Enfield Patch remembers a business or landmark that is no longer in town through publication of old advertisements from some 1960s-1980s Enfield and Fermi high school yearbooks and early-1960s to mid-1980s telephone directories and newspapers.
Today we look back 45 years to the original Fermi High School yearbook of 1972, and an ad from Kentucky Roast Beef.
Located at 397 Enfield Street, next to Dairy Queen, Kentucky Roast Beef was an offshoot of the popular Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise. The beef chain was formed in the late 1960s, and had 100 stores nationwide by 1970. The business eventually failed, however, and was closed by the mid-1970s.

Following its closure, the Route 5 location was occupied for a number of years by Pro Graphics, then later became a convenience store. It is currently home to Smoke N Munch.
Enfield Patch invites readers to share their memories in the comments section below.
