ENFIELD, CT — A TikTok comment and DNA evidence helped investigators link an Enfield man to an armed motel robbery, according to new warrant details reported by CT Insider.
Francisco Perez, 45, was arrested Sept. 22 in connection with the 2025 robbery at the Motel 6 in Wethersfield, as Patch previously reported. Wethersfield police said his charges included first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. His bond was set at $500,000.
According to Patch’s original coverage of the robbery, police were called to the motel at 1341 Silas Deane Highway around 10:16 p.m. July 27, 2025.

Police said two armed, masked men jumped over the lobby counter, demanded money and forced the clerk into a rear employee office at gunpoint, where they assaulted him.
“During the incident, the suspects stole the clerk’s cellular phone, wristwatch, and an undetermined amount of cash,” police said in the release previously reported by Patch.

The clerk suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment, police said in Patch’s September report. Investigators said the suspects left in a white 2017 Hyundai Elantra that had been reported stolen from Hartford.
In Friday’s report, CT Insider said the warrant described a TikTok comment that led investigators to profile photos resembling a suspect in surveillance footage. The outlet also reported that DNA recovered from the stolen car’s steering wheel linked Perez to the vehicle.
The charges are accusations. Perez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
