Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union to Celebrate Youth Month in April
Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union in Enfield is 'Wild About Saving' for local youths.

The Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union (TVTFCU), located at 182 South Road in Enfield, will be celebrating National Credit Union Youth Month in April for its youth members. This year’s theme is, “Wild About Saving.” Each time a youth member makes a deposit, they can enter in a prize drawing. There will also be fun activities and informative financial literature for kids and teens as well as a Coin Drive to benefit the CT Children’s Hospital/Children’s Miracle Network.
A special visit from Rocky the Cat, the mascot for the New Britain Rock Cats will be on Saturday, April 11th from
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Kids can also enjoy cookies, balloons, and face painting.
The credit union strives to educate their youth members about the basics of financial management. It’s never too early to start learning! Youth accounts include the Kirby Kangaroo Club for ages birth – 12 and the iSave Teen Club for ages 13 – 17. These programs make it fun for children to learn about money and helps them develop important money management skills that will last a lifetime. TVTFCU also offers a $500 Scholarship Award that teen members can apply for.

“TVTFCU celebrates Youth Month every year. The children enjoy coming in for the festivities and leave having gained more knowledge about finances. Whether it’s as simple as learning to count their money or understanding the process of buying their first car. We’re here to help them and their families.” said Myrijam Meserve, Manager/CEO for the Tobacco Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union.

TVTFCU’s field of membership includes: All public and non-public school employees who work in the towns of Enfield, East Windsor, Windsor, Windsor Locks, Suffield and Somers, Connecticut; Enrico Fermi High School students; Enfield High School students; Employees of Community Health Resources and Employees, commissioners and volunteers of the Enfield Fire Department, plus, spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this credit union, persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment, members of their immediate families and organization of such persons.
