Tree Falls Into Power Lines; Fire Disrupts Enfield Internet Service
Some internet customers were still without service Friday, with outages ranging from a few hours to more than an entire day.

ENFIELD, CT — Internet users in the center of Enfield are still experiencing outages more than 24 hours after a tree fell into power lines on South Road, causing major damage.
Hazardville Fire Chief Jack Flanagan said his department was called to a fire on a utility pole at South Road and Indian Run around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. The blaze caused considerable damage to lines used by internet providers, including Cox Communications and Frontier.
As of 10:30 a.m. Friday, many customers were still reporting outages in the Hazardville section of town, extending into Scitico. Others said their service was restored at various times ranging from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning.

Crews from both communications companies were still working at the scene around 10:45 a.m. Friday.
