Truck Crash Disrupts Traffic on Major Enfield Road

Police anticipate alternating traffic in one lane will continue for most of the day Thursday.

ENFIELD, CT — A truck crashed into a guard rail wire and a tree line on one of Enfield's busiest streets early Thursday morning, causing closure of the roadway for several hours and limiting the traffic pattern for most of the day.

Route 190, also known as Hazard Avenue, was closed between South George Washington Road and Palomba Drive due to the crash. No serious injuries were reported.

Around 7 a.m., a single lane was opened for eastbound and westbound traffic, using an alternating system directed by police. Delays are expected for the majority of the day, police said.
