UJIMA AFRICAN AMERICAN ALLIANCE RECEIVES $1800.00 IN SPONSORSHIPS, MATCHING GRANTS and RETIREE INVOLVEMENT FROM EVERSOURCE ENERGY
Enfield, CT, May 26, 2022 – The Ujima African Alliance received total awards in the amount of $1800.00. from the Eversource varying charitable funding opportunities. This funding will help Ujima in its first celebration of the Juneteenth Festival on June 19th 2022 and our mission of educating, inspiring the African American Community and to help build a more inclusive community in Enfield CT.
“We are grateful to Eversource Energy for their generous support of our mission.,” said Rosalind Swift, the Vice-Chair of Ujima African American Alliance. The Covid pandemic and subsequent viruses has produced a unique set of public health challenges to everyone, increased mental health and anxiety concerns, cultural unrest and violence.’. People need connection now more than ever before. We are committed to our mission to educate, inspire, impact and encourage Enfield’s African American community and help strengthen the inclusion and sense of community in our town as a whole.
