Vernon Man Accused of Spitting Food At Enfield Woman, But Woman Was Not Supposed To Be With Him Drinking: Report
The woman was there in violation of a court order, police said.

VERNON, CT — A resident of a West Main Street apartment complex is accused of slapping a woman around and spitting food at her during a tirade early Wednesday morning, police said.
Meanwhile, the woman was not even supposed to be there, police said.
Police went to apartment 103 of the Springville Mill complex at 12:53 a.m. after a woman called 911 from her car to say she was there visiting her "boyfriend" and that the man went berserk over deceased relatives, according to arrest reports.

Police were told by the woman that the man, 49-year-old Christopher Devoto, began screaming at her, slapping her in the face and spitting food in her face, according to arrest reports.
Devoto told police the two were watching a movie and drinking alcohol and she made comments about deceased relatives, according to arrest reports.

He told police the woman was asked to leave but did not, according to arrest reports.
Police said they then discovered that the woman, 29-year-old Michelle Cadieux, of Bigelow Ave., Enfield, was not supposed to enter Devoto's apartment, "within 24 hours of consuming alcohol and/or drugs," as outlined in a protective order.
She was then charged with violating that order, police said.
Devoto was charged with second-degree breach of peace, police said.
They were both to appear in court Wednesday, according to arrest reports.
