Wrong-Way Driver Stopped Near Enfield On I-91, State Police Say
Troopers said the vehicle was stopped on I-91 South near Exit 47E after multiple 911 calls.
ENFIELD, CT — A 55-year-old East Granby man was arrested early Wednesday after Connecticut State Police said he drove the wrong way for several miles on Interstate 91 and refused to stop.
State police said Troop H dispatch began getting multiple 911 calls around 12:06 a.m. about a wrong-way driver heading north in the southbound lanes of I-91 in Hartford.
According to police, the driver kept going the wrong way for several miles and ignored troopers who were trying to stop the vehicle.

Police said troopers eventually stopped the vehicle on I-91 South near Exit 47E while it was still traveling the wrong way.
State police identified the driver as Kyle David Bishop, 55, of East Granby.

He was charged with reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, evading responsibility involving injury or property damage, operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Police said he was held on a $25,000 cash bond and was unable to post it. He was taken to Hartford Correctional Center and was scheduled to appear April 1 in Hartford Superior Court.
