DEEP RIVER, CT — No injuries were reported in an apartment fire late Sunday night in Deep River, according to fire officials.
Crews responded around midnight to a reported dryer fire in a second-floor apartment on Main Street, according to officials.
“On arrival responders had a smoke condition on the second floor with alarms sounding and heavy smoke in the unit with the dryer,” officials wrote in a post on the Deep River Fire Department’s Facebook page. “First priority was evacuation of another tenant that had not left their unit yet. Responders were able to wake them and get them out safely. The active fire in the apartment was extinguished quickly minimizing the damage.”
